For the purpose of determining the greatest tennis players in the Open Era, players are ranked according to the following metrics: Titles, Finals, Win Percentage, Weeks at Number 1 (based on elo rating) and peak elo rating. The number 1 ranked player for each metric is assigned 10 points, the number 2 ranked player is assigned 9 points, down to 1 point for 10th. These points are doubled for the titles rank. In addition, players are awarded two points for each Grand Slam title.
